That Blade Runner sequel has a new director

It looks like Ridley Scott has left the Blade Runner sequel, gone like tears in rain (nailed it). To be fair, he was never officially attached, but if I led with that I wouldn’t be able to use my sweet joke. The official director of Blade Runner 2: Secret of the Ooze (working title) is Denis Villenueve, who directed 2013’s Prisoners.

Also confirmed is Harrison Ford, which is cool, but I don’t really feel the need to revisit Rick Deckard thirty years down the line. The sequel starts filming in 2016, so we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Thanks to Uproxx for the heads up.
