Tim Burton to direct Disney’s live-action Dumbo

Dumbo

This news coming from The Hollywood Reporter states that a deal has been locked to have Tim Burton (and presumably Johnny Depp because come on, when do these two not frolic through movieland together) to direct the live-action Dumbo film for Disney.

Disney has been on a kick recently resurrecting their classic animated films into live-action versions, starting with Cinderella. We also know that a Beauty and the Beast live-action film is also in the works at the studio.

Mr. Burton won’t be alone on this though, as Disney have also brought on-board Ehren Kruger who wrote the scripts for all those fantastic Transformers films. It’s being reported that a script is already in place and ready to go.

As expected, Dumbo will use mix of CGI and live action to bring the floppy eared elephant life and we can only hope that the alcohol induced pink elephant scene s still as frighting as ever. Also, just a tip for the studio: You may want to just leave of the racist crows lead by none-other than Jim Crow. You can thank me for that one later.
