Jack Ryan is like the American version of James Bond. In the lifetime of the character on the silver screen, five different actors have taken on the role to varying degrees of success. What’s neat about the character is the wide range of actors that have undertaken the role including: Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and most recently Chris Pine.
This will be the first time the Jack Ryan franchise is heading to the small screen, and with it comes a new lead actor in the role. The Office star, John Krasinski will be taking the reigns for this 10 episode series. Coming of his performance in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi this makes a lot of sense, and I’m excited to see him in a traditional action role.
We don’t yet know much about the project and its story, but we do know that it’s an origin’s story detail Jack Ryan rising up the ranks at the CIA.
