Tom Cruise To Star In The Mummy Remake

The Mummy

The Mummy returns, err, that’s not right. What I’m trying to say is that Universal is rebooting their legendary film The Mummy. This reboot of the original 1932 film starting Boris Karloff will see Tom Cruise take a lead role.

Sofia Boutella (Kingsman, Star Trek Beyond) is set to play the classic monster alongside Cruise. Does this mean that we will be getting some insane love story about Mummy lover Tom Cruise, because I’m totally okay with that. The film is set for a June 9, 2017 release.

Details on the script and story are sparse, but we do know that it will be set in present day. We aren’t sure where in the timeline those Brendan Fraser films fall into place, or where that FANTASTIC Scorpion King fits. I highly doubt any mention of those films will be dropped in this new film.
