Meh, it happens.

Time is the fire in which we burn. And even video games you probably thought long dead burn, too. Over on their site, Ubisoft has listed 91 games which have had their online services terminated. And, to be fair, many of these games are fairly old, and in some cases didn’t really have integral online services (e.g. Beyond Good & Evil). Still it’s a sizeable list of games, the majority of which had online multiplayer features.

There is one important thing to keep in mind, though, and it’s something Ubisoft pointed out themselves after some initial confusion. Most of these games actually had their online services terminated last year. As a matter of fact, the list seems to be cumulative. and it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that a number of these games had their online services terminated long ago, especially those on long-defunct consoles.
