Are these the villains in Ant-Man? (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)

Okay, read ahead at your own risk, because spoilers may abound. Some leaked information suggests that Ant-Man will have no less than three villains, so let’s talk about that. The leak in question is mainly related to this tweet:

ant-man2

Jeff Sneider is a writer for The Wrap, so chances are he knows what he’s talking about. And Ant-Man doesn’t have the rogues gallery of top-tier Marvel heroes, so I’m inclined to believe this.

So who is Darren Cross? Uproxx describes him as “the founder of Cross Technological Enterprises, another Marvel Universe tech company along the lines of Stark Enterprises and Oscorp.” So basically, another evil businessman.

ant-man4Fun fact: Darren Cross is so obscure that he’s not on Wikipedia.

His cousin is William Cross, who becomes the villain Crossfire because puns. He’s often posited as an enemy of Hawkeye’s, because they’re both marksmen who would get their asses kicked by regular characters? I don’t know. I don’t know a lot about Crossfire, but I would love to see Patrick Wilson as a villain.

ant-man3I have a crotchless version of this suit. Ladies.

The really cool news comes courtesy of BadassDigest, who I’ll just quote because I’m lazy:

The villain in Ant-Man is Yellowjacket. You’ll note that this is way outside of the comic canon, as Ant-Man Hank Pym himself was Yellowjacket for a while – he had a bunch of different super-identities, with Yellowjacket being one of the edgier ones. This doesn’t mean Hank Pym is the villain (as many have speculated in the past), as he won’t be in the suit. Pym is much more of a mentor to Scott Lang in this film.

I’d be totally okay with that, and I’ll show you why:

Yellowjacket

I will pay literally all of my dollars to see Michael Douglas in that costume.
