Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly teaming up to protect the borders

Deadline is reporting that Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly might be joining Sony’s Border Guards, which may be directed by Step Brothers and Anchorman‘s Adam McKay. Honestly, all you’d have to say is “Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as ____ in a movie about ____” and I’d be on board, but here’s a description of the plot:

It’s a comedy that McKay is eyeing to direct, with Ferrell and Reilly playing two hapless but earnest friends who decide to give purpose to their lives by protecting America’s borders from illegal immigrants. In the process they find themselves accidentally stranded in Mexico without identification and must sneak back into the U.S.

Sony can just start printing money. Border Guards comes from Jesse Armstrong, an Oscar nominee for In the Loop, so Border Guardsmight be more satire than slapstick.
