Check out the winner of the Star Wars Fan Film Awards

Yeah, I still work here.

Apparently there was a fan film competition at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Europe – which, Star Trek, is the correct way to interact with fans, by the way. You litigious dicks. Anyway, the winner was TK-436, subtitled A Stormtrooper’s Story, and it’s pretty terrific.

Directed by two brothers, Samtubia and Sangoma Edwards, TK-436 follows the titular stormtrooper, originally a scarf-wearing kid from an unidentified planet who enlists with the Galactic Empire. To say more would be to spoil twists that are pretty crucial to the film’s tight plot, so you should absolutely check it out. The Edwards brothers have a keen eye for visuals, and the music is on point too. It uses chord progressions and leitmotifs that will be familiar to all Star Wars fans, and the ending is impressively dark.

TK-436 is embedded below, and you can check out the rest of the fan film award winners here.

Thanks to Uproxx for the heads up.
