Lionsgate has decided to wrap up the Divergent series with a TV movie and spinoff series. The decision was likely made in light of the previous movie’s box office returns, as well as the fact that it would’ve encountered stiff opposition during it’s original projected debut. There is no word on whether or not the original cast will sign on for the movie, but the series will feature a different cast in a “passing of the torch” move. No pitches have been made, though the plan is to offer it to either a traditional and or streaming network.
