Is this our new Pennywise?

The It films are moving ahead at full power, it seems. Both films will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who directed the entirety of True Detective‘s first season. The big question so far has been, who will play the iconic Pennywise the Clown, so memorably brought to life by Tim Curry in the ’90s miniseries? Well, it looks like British actor Will Poulter, 22, will attempt to fill Curry’s clown shoes. You probably know Poulter (and his eyebrows) from We’re the Millers and The Maze Runner.

According to Variety

After considering older actors like Mark Rylance and Ben Mendelsohn for the Pennywise role, New Line wanted to take a different route and go younger.

Well, shit, now I want to see Ben Mendelsohn’s take on Pennywise. I trust Fukunaga, though, so if he says Poulter’s a good fit, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
