John Romero’s Sigil Megawad Given Hard Release Date

Rip and tear!

John Romero’s oft-delayed Doom Megawad has finally been given a definitive release date. The free Megawad, considered a spiritual successor to Ultimate Doom, is set to release for free on May 31. And the entire thing is free to download on the game’s site on that date.

The episode is for the original, vanilla Doom. Which means you’re rolling like it’s 1993 all over again. And Romero won’t have it any other way.

SIGIL FACT: The megawad was designed for original DOOM 1, which means there's no mouselooking or jumping allowed. If you do, you're cheating. Have fun! #DOOM #SIGIL

As for where those delays came from, Sigil went through itsshare of manufacturing problems for its limited edition physical release, courtesy of Limited Run Games. That said, Doom community members already have access to the wad. I guess if you want to ruin it for yourself, you can watch the speedrun below.
