Lifetime is producing “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story”

It’s fitting that this story comes courtesy of Buzzfeed, because Lifetime is just trying to cash in on #90skid nostalgia here. The women’s network – who, lest we forget, also brought us Liz & Dick – is moving forward with The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, which is a terrible, terrible title.

Via Buzzfeed:

…the real story will be brought to life in The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, a new Lifetime television movie that promises to change the way that fans look at the classic kids’ comedy.

Buzzfeed has also obtained a photo of the cast, featuring a young Lou Diamond Phillips as Mario Lopez.

The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell story is apparently independent of, but inspired by, Dustin Diamond’s memoir Behind the Bell, which would probably make for an HBO movie, given all the sex, drugs, threesome sex, bisexual threesome sex, and gay sex that supposedly went on. Lifetime’s movie airs Septemer 1.
