Matt Reeves Won’t Be Using Affleck’s Batman Script

Is this… shui?

You know, despite not getting the bes shot scriptwise, I felt Ben Affleck made a pretty good Batman. That said, Affleck did step back from directing the solo Batman film, for whatever reason, and Matt Reeves stepped in to fill his shoes. And when that happened, he chucked Affleck’s script.

It’s probably neither a good thing, nor a bad thing, merely a decision taken. The news is, however, in keeping with Reeves’ statement regarding the tone of the film. Deathstroke doesn’t really fit with a Noir Detective aesthetic, I think you’ll agree.

Still, it’s hard not to at least imagine what could’ve been. Batman is one of DC’s most consistently filmable characters, going allllll the way back. That said, trusting Reeves in this decision may well be a wise move, considering where DC is, cinematic universe-wise.
