MoviePass Cuts Price for a Limited Time

MoviePass

Gotta prime the pump, I guess.

MoviePass shook things up when they announced their plan to offer full priced movie tickets on demand for a monthly rate.

Doubly so when they announced that they were slashing that rate to $10 a month. Well, for new customers, they’re lowering that price to $6.95.

According to an announcement today, MoviePass made the move for the purposes of “diversifying its revenue streams”. The move is apparently fueled by deals made with movie studios, distributors, and even theaters.

As to the nature of those deals, well, it’s unclear. Normally when you see a price drop like that, it’s hard to think it’s a good thing for the service, even though it can be. In this case, either way, it’s to your benefit, since movie tickets aren’t exactly cheap.
