It’s official ‘Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite’ is coming in 2017

We’ve head rumors over the past few months that Capcom was working on another followup to their legendary crossover fighting series Marvel vs Capcom.

We now have official word that the next installment in the long-running  is titled Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and will hit consoles in 2017. Along with the official announcement from Capcom comes a trailer for the upcoming game.

It’s a very classic teaser trailer, and by classic I mean that it’s all pre-rendered footage of a cinematic showing what seem to be the main cast. We see team Marvel consisting of Iron Man and Captain Marvel (a new addition to the series), and Mega Man and Ryu on team Capcom.

What’s telling about the trailer is the lack of any X-Men characters, something that has been a concern as Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom three was pulled from digital platforms when Capcom lost the Marvel license to those characters.

But while many in the fighting game community may be wondering what the future holds for their favorite character, this opens up the game featuring more characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Check out the trailer for yourself and get ready for some competitive punching and kicking this next year.
