Oscar- and BAFTA-winning actor Peter Capaldi (whom some of you might recognize better as the Twelfth Doctor on Doctor Who) is reportedly signing on the the sequel to Suicide Squad. Per Deadline, Capaldi is joining the cast of the James Gunn- directed film. He joins a cast including Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) as well as new castmembers Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), Flula Borg, Steve Agee (King Shark).

The scuttlebutt is that there will be a table reading for the film on September 11th. Production is believed to begin on September 23rd at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, GA.

Also in talks for the film is SNL member Pete Davidson. There’s nothing solid on it yet; nothing has been finalized. Though he would be able to do it in between breaks for SNL.

As to what characters Capaldi and Davidson will play, that’s still under wraps.
