Warner Bros. bringing Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen

The Hollywood Reporter  is reporting (never gets old) that Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up the rights to the incredibly popular Five Nights at Freddy’s horror game. The game, that has spawned three sequels in less than a year, by ScottCawthon sees you in the role of a night watchman at a Chuck E. Cheese type restaurant during the night shift.

Seth Grahame-Smith of KatzSmith Productions said,

We’re looking forward to working with Scott [Cawthon] to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie… The story really lends itself to being a movie and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to

What makes this interesting is that the story itself holds ties to actual events that occurred at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant some many years back. Search the Five Nights at Freddy’s Game Theory episode for more possible backstory to this deceptively simple game.

Here’s to hoping Markiplier gets a cameo!
