Our First Look at Robert Pattinson as Batman in Test Footage

Matt Reeves, the director of the upcoming film The Batman, has released new camera test footage of Robert Pattinson in the new Batman suit for the upcoming film. and it looks pretty sweet.

Sure, when I stumbled across the footage on my Facebook feed I thought it was for a new Daredevil project because of the red lighting and cowl (Pattinson does have a very Daredevil-like chin), but it’s clearly for The Batman.

What I personally like is the suit design itself as it seems to be heavily pulling from the Arkham series of video games, giving it a more realistic look, much in the same way the Dark Knight trilogy tried to do.

It looks clean, sharp, and menacing. This is Bat-flek and his fabric filled pads that made him look like an agile potato. Also of note if the music that accompanies the camera test footage by Michael Giacchino.

I’m on-board for this one even if nobody really knows what universe or timeline this Batman fits in the DC Comics cinematic universe. I’m pretty okay with there not being a unified DCU for the movies as The Joker showed that letting a vision unfold from a director can really pay off.
